Dr. John Inscore Essick

Dr. Inscore Essick teaches Church History and Baptist Heritage at the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. Dr. Inscore Essick’s scholarly interests include dissent and nonconformity, liturgical history, the Baptist tradition, and Baptist worship.

Dr. Inscore Essick is a member of The National Association of the Baptist Professors of Religion, the Baptist History and Heritage Society, the American Society of Church History, and the Conference on Faith and History. He has published book reviews, articles, sermons and is in the final stages of publishing a book about Thomas Grantham, a seventeenth-century Baptist minister and Nonconformist.

Dr. Inscore Essick, his wife, Amber, and their son, Olin, reside in Lexington, KY where they enjoy gardening, bird watching, and all things Tarheel.
